Police arraign 5 over murder of Igbo woman in Kano ON JUNE 10, 20161:32 PMIN NEWSCOMMENTS By Abdulsalam Muhammad KANO – Amid tight security the police in Kano Friday arraigned the prime suspect and 4 others believed to have masterminded and killed a 74 years Christian woman trader in kano, Mrs Briget Agbaheme. The suspects are Dauda Ahmad , Abdullahi Mustapha, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar, and Musa Abdullahi Those at large includes Salawiyu SNU, (Surname Unknown) Ibrahim SNU, Dini SNU, Isyaku Mada, Malam Sani, Malam Sani, Inusa sufi, Malam Umar. The arraignment at Magistrate court 20 Friday attracted heavily armed police, Lawyers and working journalists. However, the police First Information Report (FIR) reads out to all the accused persons reads “ that you Dauda Ahmad “M” of Goron Dutse quarters, Kano on 2nd day of June, 2016 at about 1630hrs, at Kofar Wambai market Kano while having misunderstanding with Mrs Briget Mike Agbaheme, held her hand and slapped her on face and with intent to cause breach of public peace and causing death, false raised alarm wherein you shouted “ALLAHU AKBAR” and falsely accused one Mrs Briget Mike Agbaheme “F” of blaspheming the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). In the report the accused persons were informed that “ your false alarm led to breach of public peace and death of Mrs Agbahime”. The suspects were also accused of using “dangerous weapons to hit her head which caused serious injuries that subsequently led to her death.” As anticipated all the five accused persons pleaded not guilty to charges against them. But the police prosecutor, Usman Jibril pleaded the court to adjourn the case to enable them complete investigation. Subsequently, the presiding Magistrate, Muhammad Jibrin adjourned the case to June 28, as he further directed that the suspects should be remanded in prison.
