A 25 year old man has been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his father for refusing to marry a wife for him.
According to SP Abdul Jinjiri, the spokesperson of the police command, he noted that the suspect identified as Abdulhamid Abdullahi went after his father, Abdullahi Shuaibu, in Kirikasamma, the headquarters of Kirikasamma Local Government Area of the state for not marrying a wife for him after marrying wives for his elder brothers.
He attacked his father around 3am on Sunday with axe and firewood.
The suspect who did not deny the crime said that he intended to kill his elder brothers and not his father.
“He used the axe and a firewood to kill his father around 3 am on Sunday. He attacked his father while the father was sleeping in his room,” the police spokesman said.
